The BMO $500,000 Bankshot was an insured shot contest in partnership with Score Media, BMO Financial Group and the Toronto Raptors. It was awarded the Best Co-Promotion Award from Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE).
The execution was created to help BMO leverage their Toronto Raptors sponsorship. Project responsibilities included all contest design, digital marketing, client pitch, promotional components and event execution.
The format required viewers to register with a contest microsite and enter key words from Raptors' broadcasts in order to be eligible for the draw. The contest was hosted by Score media personality Cabral "Cabbie" Richards.
The contest winner received a VIP weekend in Toronto and got to meet many of the Raptors players in person (see photos below). He also received a training session with Raptors’ sharpshooter Jason Kapono before shooting from half-court for a half million dollars during a Toronto Raptors home game. The shot was aired live on national TV.
The Score delivered over $500k in media value via multiple platforms. Over 50,000 entries were generated which substantially boosted the databases of all three partners.
