Worked with Swatch Beach Volleyball Tour to secure TSN as a partner for the World Tour Finals in Toronto. The tournament capped a season that included events around the world.
The event combines sports & entertainment with music, crowd engagements and an interactive vendor village experience. The content was considered a good investment with all the hype for beach volleyball coming out of the Rio Olympics. It also presented a good opportunity to "wave the flag" as Canadian teams have been performing well on the tour. In the event lead-up, TSN aired a series of packaged highlight shows from the Major Series events that had already taken place that summer. Extra weight was given to shows where Canadian teams performed well.
TSN agreed to take 14+ hours of live programming on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The world feed would supply TSN and 25 other media partners. Major Series handled all show production including:
o 17 cameras + post production unit
o 5 editors, 3 ENG cameras
o Talent: Two member English language broadcast team onsite in Toronto
Red Bull Media House confirmed Intelsat Americas Satellite would be used and coordinated a solution for TSN to be able to hear director in English. RBMH also sent a production run-down as well as ad placement suggestions. The Major Series team shared their sponsor list and protected categories well before the event broadcast.
TSN contributed to event promotion via:
o Creation of a :30 tune-in spot
o Promo boards
o On-going promotional Lower-Thirds in TSN produced live events
o TSN.ca editorial coverage, highlights and features
o Ad units running across TSN.ca including big box, leaderboard and desktop wallpapers
o Homepage Takeovers on relevant pages
o Promotional ad units within the TSN Morning Email on key dates
o TSN Communications team to distribute media releases to their list of contacts
o Sharing of stories, highlights and features across TSN social media
End result was an incredible weekend of content (pictures below). No production issues were encountered and audience projections were met.
