The Score Fighting Series (SFS) ran and produced professional Mixed Martial Arts events across the country. SFS was carried live on The Score in Canada and licensed to AXS TV in the United States.
Production for live events was contracted to Taxi Productions with support from Score staff. Cards were initially streamed through The Score's website until the crew gained enough experience. After that, undercard bouts were still streamed on the website with the main card airing live on prime time television. The events were a solid fit for The Score's programming needs. They delivered strong Canadian content and had an extended shelf life. Fights were packaged into a series of one-hour programs that ran in both prime and ROS. The shows featured non-stop action and delivered solid audience numbers over multiple airings.
SFS began as the media and production partner for various regional MMA promotions and eventually started running their own shows. Responsibilities included production overview, event management, sponsorship, promotion, athlete management, ticket sales and scheduling. Sponsorship included brand sell, verbal mentions, promotions, onsite activations and in-show branding for partnerships such as NOS Energy Drink, DeWalt Power Tools, 888 Poker, Shoeless Joe's Sports Bars, Warner Music and Warner Movies.
The mandate of the series was to put on the most exciting fights possible and to help fighters maximize their career potential. SFS alumni who went on to compete in the UFC include Jordan Mein, Elias Theodorou, Antonio Carvalho, Rick Glenn, Chris Clements, Alex Ricci, Jason Saggo, Daron Cruickshank, John Alessio, Josh Hill, Desmond Green and Jesse Ronson.
